But the real masterpieces are represented by the original panels of “Gates of Paradise” in the Baptistery by Lorenzo Ghiberti, the sculptures by Arnolfo di Cambio, the “Cantorie” of the Cathedral by Donatello and Luca della Robbia, the “Prophet Habakkuk” and “Magdalene Penitent” by Donatello, and finally the panels by Andrea Pisano and “Pieta” by Michelangelo.

The Opera Duomo Museum in Florence houses the relic of a finger of St. John the Baptist, a collection of sacred art and various Roman artefacts taken in the construction of temples, carvings and sculptures.

A combined ticket is available to visit the Basilica of Santa Croce, the Opera del Duomo Museum and the Baptistery of San Giovanni and can only be booked online and costs € 15.00. For children under 15 the cost is € 9.00.
