We wait for you at the Brunelleschi Hotel for a magical and unforgettable stay, for a honeymoon, for an anniversary or for a romantic getaway in the heart of Tuscany. In our favourite list of romantic places in Florence, we have included various proposals for an itinerary that may be suitable for a 3 day holiday in Florence.

Day 1 of the romantic itinerary in Florence

A romantic vacation in Florence cannot fail to begin with a pleasant stroll through the streets of the historic center, among its marvelous palaces, monuments and the city’s main shopping streets. If you arrive in the morning, we suggest you visit the historic covered Market in the San Lorenzo district (open every day) and stop for lunch, choosing one of the available local specialties.
Go up to the second floor of the market, where you will find a number of businesses serving delicious local dishes. Be sure to try some of the local specialties, such as lampredotto (a traditional Florentine tripe sandwich) or the famous Florentine steak (a thick, juicy steak cooked to perfection). Of course, there is no shortage of pizzas, Chinese specialties, burgers and many other dishes.
A great way to spend an afternoon in Florence is to visit the Accademia Gallery, home to some of the world’s most important art masterpieces. The gallery boasts an impressive collection of paintings, sculptures and other works of art by some of the most famous artists in history.
One of the most famous pieces in the gallery is Michelangelo’s original statue of David (the one displayed at the entrance to the Palazzo Vecchio is a copy of him). This masterpiece stands tall and proud, a symbol of the strength and endurance of the human spirit. It is truly an impressive sight to see in person, and visitors from all over the world come to admire its beauty and artistry.
Another stop not to miss in the streets of the centre regards the shops that sell the typical Florentine paper, whose motifs of flowers, fruits, scrolls, cherubs and many other iconic subjects are embellished with gold. Our concierge will be able to suggest the best addresses to go.
The evening can then end in the best possible way with a tasting dinner at our 2 Michelin Star Restaurant Santa Elisabetta. Chef Rocco De Santis will delight you with his creative and tasty cuisine in the charming and romantic location of the Byzantine Tower of Pagliazza, which has only seven exclusive tables.

Day 2 of the romantic itinerary in Florence

For the morning of the second day, we suggest a visit to the Uffizi Gallery or the Palazzo Vecchio Museum, located next to each other just a few minutes’ walk from Brunelleschi Hotel.
The Uffizi Gallery is home to some of the world’s most beautiful and famous paintings, sculptures and works of art. The museum houses works by famous artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Botticelli and many others. It is truly a sight to behold.
The Palazzo Vecchio Museum is also a spectacular place that showcases the history and culture of Florence. The museum is located in the heart of the city and is housed in a beautiful 14th century palace. The museum has a vast collection of paintings, sculptures and artifacts that tell the rich history of Florence.
The day can then continue with the discovery of one of the most romantic places near Florence. We offer lunch and wine tasting at Castello Nipozzano, a charming medieval castle located in Chianti owned by the Frescobaldi family, located about 40 minutes from the center of Florence and easily accessible by private car transfer.
You can enjoy the afternoon in the countryside among the beautiful Tuscan vineyards and return by sunset for a dinner overlooking Piazzale Michelangelo with unbeatable souvenir photos, or take advantage of the evening to attend a concert at the Florence Opera House or in an intimate church in the historic center.
Florence’s art calendar is full of must-see events throughout the year, and many events are communicated and updated in our blog.

Day 3 of the romantic itinerary in Florence

For the third day, we propose a trip along the romantic Cinque Terre coast (in summer) or a visit to Siena, San Gimignano, Montepulciano and Pienza (at any time of the year).
In the evening, a walk in the Oltrarno district to explore and enjoy like a true Florentine.
Do not forget to taste an ice cream in one of the renowned ice cream shops in the historic centre or to visit the Pagliazza Museum accompanied by our concierge. The museum is located in the basement of the Torre della Pagliazza and houses an ancient Roman calidarium and a collection of Renaissance ceramics found during the renovation of the Tower. The museum is located inside the Brunelleschi Hotel and just below the Osteria Pagliazza, where you can enjoy a delicious dinner in an intimate and relaxing atmosphere.

Tips for true romantics in Florence:

Tie a padlock with your initials and those of your loved one along the railings of Ponte Vecchio.
Along Ponte Vecchio there are the best jewellers in the city. You could surprise your other half with the most enchanting engagement ring or if you prefer not to rush too much… have a “couple” portrait done in front of the Duomo or in front of the Uffizi Gallery.
Obviously, these are just a few suggestions… Florence is a wonderful city with corners, alleys and clubs to be discovered.

Find your favourite and let us know which one it is!
